• Mlle. Simone Thion de la Chaume: A French champion and the first overseas golfer to win the British Ladies Amateur Championship (in 1927). She later married tennis legend René Lacoste, and together they founded the Lacoste sportswear brand.
• Mr. Roger Wethered: One of the most successful amateur golfers of his era and the 1923 British Amateur champion.
• The pair won the 1926 Worplesdon tournament after a "magnificent match" against Miss Gourlay (Molly Gourlay) and Major Hezlet
