Miss Charlotte Pearson, daughter of Mr Luis Basualdo, of New York, and of the Honourable Mrs Fraser of Blackdown Park, Lurgashall, West Sussex, is to be married to Mr Charlie Methven, son of Mr and Mrs Colin Methven, of Even Court, Evenlode, Gloucestershire. She is pictured here in the ruins of Cowdray House, on the Sussex estate of her mother's family, the Pearsons. Charlotte, aged 27, is a graduate of Yale University and now works in London as a freelance journalist.

This is an authentic original page from Country Life magazine, part of the iconic series often affectionately referred to as the “Girls in Pearls” portraits — elegant society images that captured a distinctive era of British publishing and portraiture.
