Miss Alice Bromley Gardner - Alice, aged 19, is the younger daughter of Col and Mrs Michael Bromley Gardner, of Coombe Cottage, Charlton, Wiltshire. Educated at St Mary's Shaftesbury and Cirencester College, where she gained three Grade As, Alice has chosen not to go to university, but to work in London while doing a millinery course at the London College of Fashion. She has recently been helping her mother, who appeared on the COUNTRY LIFE frontispiece on November 12, 1981, to launch the Ornamental Tree Hire Company.
This is an authentic original page from Country Life magazine, part of the iconic series often affectionately referred to as the “Girls in Pearls” portraits — elegant society images that captured a distinctive era of British publishing and portraiture.
