Miss Emma Smith, daughter of Mr and Mrs Duncan Hattersley Smith, of Aspen House, Killiecrankie, Perthshire, is to be married to the Honourable Harry McGowan, son of Lord and Lady McGowan, of Highway House, Lower Froyle, Hampshire. Born in Keighley. West Yorkshire, where her family founded the loom makers George Hattersley & Sons in 1789, Emma, 28, is an account director of the public relations consultancy AMD. She is shown here with two of her cocker spaniels, Romulus (left) and Remus.
