The featured frontispiece this week is a portrait of Lady Greenwood, D.B.E., with her sons David and Michael (referred to in the original caption as Eric). Lady Greenwood, daughter of the late Walter Spencer, married Lieut.-Colonel the Rt. Hon. Sir Hamar Greenwood in 1911.
Lady Greenwood (Margery Spencer) (1886–1968) was a prominent figure in British society and was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1922 for her services in Ireland during her husband’s tenure as Chief Secretary.
