Miss Melissa Pemberton-Pigott - Melissa, aged 25, is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Jason Pemberton-Pigott, of Fawe Park, Keswick, Cumbria. After graduating from Hertford College, Oxford, with a degree in human sciences, she took a Master's in comparative art and archaeology at University College London, and is now a research assistant. Melissa is seen here in the garden at Fawe, where Beatrix Potter painted the Benjamin Bunny illustrations; her uncle Lord Inglewood contributes to our Lake District feature.

This is an authentic original page from Country Life magazine, part of the iconic series often affectionately referred to as the “Girls in Pearls” portraits — elegant society images that captured a distinctive era of British publishing and portraiture.
