The featured frontispiece this week is a portrait of Lady Nunburnholme, formerly Lady Mary Thynne, third daughter of the Marquess and Marchioness of Bath, whose marriage to Lord Nunburnholme took place the previous week.

Lady Mary Beatrice Thynne was the daughter of the 5th Marquess of Bath and had previously served as a bridesmaid to Princess Mary in 1922.

  • Marriage: The couple married in November 1927.

  • Later Life: The marriage ended in divorce in 1947. Lady Mary later married Sir Ulick Alexander and served as a Lady of the Bedchamber to Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. Lord Nunburnholme remarried in 1953.
