Pamela Dawnay (1907–1983) was the eldest of five children of Major-General Guy Payan Dawnay and Cecil Buxton.

• Siblings: She had four siblings:

  • Oliver Payan Dawnay, who served as Private Secretary to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and married Lady Margaret Mary Diana Boyle
  • Elizabeth Lavender Dawnay, who married Sir Ronald Christopher Gardner-Thorpe
  • Frances Priscilla Dawnay, who remained unmarried
