  • Identity: Lady Angela Isabel Nellie Larnach-Nevill, daughter of Major Guy Larnach-Nevill (later 4th Marquess of Abergavenny).
  • Background: Her father adopted the surname Larnach-Nevill in 1919 following the death of his father-in-law, James Walker Larnach.
  • Social Status: At the time of publication in 1928, she was entering the social season, and her appearance as a frontispiece reflected her position in high society.
  • Marriage: She first married Mark Vane Milbank on October 20, 1930; the marriage ended in divorce in 1933. She later married John Digby Thomas Pepys, 7th Earl of Cottenham.
