Melissa Hope Country Life Magazine Portrait July 22, 1993. CLXXXVII No. 29.Miss Melissa Hope, aged 13, is a pupil at Salisbury Cathedral School, the first cathedral in the UK to have a girls' choir (in addition to the boys' choir). Founded in 1991, the choir, with 18 members, plays a full part in cathedral services. It broadcast on Radio 3 this year, was invited to take part in the St Albans international organ festival and in December will be performing at the Barbican. In addition to her singing abilities, Miss Hope is also a promising all-round athlete and has represented Wessex at the high jump for three consecutive years..
