A collection of early 19th-century French departmental card maps from Analyse géographique des départements de la France, originally created by Bourrut-Le Meri and published in Paris.
The collection includes examples from the rare c.1819 first edition, with hand-coloured engraved cards, together with the c.1836 third edition. Each card depicts an individual French department and combines a decorative map with detailed geographical information.
Produced as part of an educational geographical series, these original antique cards are now nearly or over 200 years old and retain the character, toning and patina expected of genuine period material.
