  • Marriage: She married Captain Arthur Cunliffe Bernard Critchley, D.S.O. on October 3, 1923.
  • Name Change: After her marriage, she was known as Eleanor Gladys Critchley, and in 1929 she formally adopted the surname Critchley-Waring.
  • Family Legacy: Her father was closely associated with the renowned furnishing firm Waring & Gillow.
  • Titles: With no male heir, the Waring barony and baronetcy became extinct upon her father’s death in 1940.
