A biologist, and partner in the family farming business at Great Glemham, Saxmundham, Suffolk, he is also involved with the work of many environmental bodies, and his aim for English Nature is "to make 100% of the population care about and strive for nature and the natural environment in England".

This is an original page from the Country Life Magazine. These ladies portraits were known as "Girls in Pearls".
