Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother celebrates her 100th birthday tomorrow. She first appeared, as Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, in COUNTRY LIFE in this photograph by Lafayette, published on January 20, 1923, to mark her engagement to HRH the Duke of York. Her subsequent 27 appearances as our frontispiece are reproduced on pages 80-84.
