Miss Eleanor d'Escourt Ashe - Eleanor, aged 23, is the youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert d'Escourt Ashe, of Griesemount, Co Kildare, Ireland. She is in her third year at Edinburgh reading history, and is a model at the Edinburgh Charity Fashion Show in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and Students Supporting Street Kids, sponsored by Artemis, to be held on March 9 and 10 at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange. Although she models part-time, Eleanor has ambitions to become a human rights lawyer. She also enjoys shooting and stalking, and last year shot the biggest stag on Jura.

This is an authentic original page from Country Life magazine, part of the iconic series often affectionately referred to as the “Girls in Pearls” portraits — elegant society images that captured a distinctive era of British publishing and portraiture.

Size: Approximately 12.5 x 9 inches (32 x 23 cm)
