Miss Jessica Cotterell and Miss Poppy Cotterell - Jessica, aged 4, is the daughter of Harry and Katherine Cotterell and Poppy, aged 24, is the daughter of Harry Cotterell and the late Carolyn Cotterell, of Garnons, Herefordshire. Mr Cotterell is the president of the CLA.

Harry Cotterell (Sir Henry Richard Geers Cotterell, 7th Bt): The father of Jessica and Poppy. He is a prominent Herefordshire landowner and farmer who served as the national president of the Country Land and Business Association (CLA) from 2011 to 2013. He is the owner of the Garnons estate in Byford, Herefordshire.


Jessica Cotterell: Described as 4 years old at the time of the text, she is the daughter of Harry and his second wife, Katherine Cotterell (née Katherine S. J. Davy).

Poppy Cotterell: Described as 24 years old at the time of the text, she is the daughter of Harry and his late first wife, Carolyn Cotterell.

Carolyn Cotterell (late): Harry's first wife, who passed away from melanoma in 1999. She was a close childhood friend of Sarah, Duchess of York.

Garnons, Herefordshire: The family's historic seat, a 2,500–3,000 acre estate that has been in the Cotterell family since the 18th century.

The CLA: The Country Land and Business Association, which Harry led as president. He has also been involved as a chairman for the Herefordshire branch and later became chairman of the rural property agency Fisher German.
